21st June marks the Winter Solstice in Australia. From this day, we will embrace more sun light through the day. Spring is coming towards us even though we may not feel anything yet!
I had the pleasure to listen to Dorothy Barr, who studied at Johannesburg Academy of Astropsychology, through zoom about winter solstice, the cosmic change and some significant signs of how our planet earth is connected with other planets and the entire solar system. A very fascinating subject for me.
Understanding what the nature is doing and what it tells me is an important part of self-care and being connected to each other and our living earth.
So I decided to re-assess, reset and recharge myself with a sugar-free diet. These days there is nothing lack of such diet information with hundreds of books, social media at your finger tip. Would you agree? Anyway, my reset plan in this winter is to reset my body environment.
I have been doing for a week since Monday, 21st June. I have no sugar craving, whats so ever. Interestingly my six-year old son joined me ( out of blue), to do this two weeks sugar-free diet challenge ( I am really happy for him! ). To tell you the truth, it is not a completely sugar-free diet, it is a diet with no added-sugar. I am still taking low-sugar content fruit, such as kiwi, berries etc.
Feeling light and great with a happy tummy is the reward.
Tai Chi and Qi Gong can also bring you the joy of having a happy tummy without symptoms of bloating, excessive gas, indigestion and overall uncomfortable sensation. Tai Chi and Qi Gong exercises work on stimulating your digestive system so that it can function better with a more active metabolism- maximising nutrition absorption and eliminating efficiently. Qi is everything, the life energy, the driving force to allow your body and mind to work together harmoniously and efficiently. Tai Chi and Qi Gong practice is to cultivate this life essence- Qi. I hope you see the connection between Qi, Qi Gong and Tai Chi and how it works within you.
So let’s nourish yourself with less sugar, more wholesome food, more Qi and warm energy in this winter.
