Have you felt exhausted and maybe even overwhelmed with a long to-do list when the countdown to Christmas draws closer? There are tensions and expectations associated with festive season which affect our mind and body.
In fact, a survey from Red Cross found that 31% of Australians regularly experienced loneliness around Christmas. The Department of Health and Aged Care also advises it’s not uncommon for Australians to feel frustrated, sad, fatigued and tense over the end-of-year holiday season.
Sometimes festive season can be the worst time for those who lost their loved ones.
While we celebrate this special time of the year with family and friends, I think it is always important to make sure we take care of our feelings and check in with inner-self regularly. Self-care should be prioritised, particularly if you feel stressed, tired or sad.
