Stay Active – Mind, Body and Spirit

August 2026

Welcome everyone to our August newsletter.

Winter time can be challenging on our body and mind. The cold, rainy and shorter days may let people feel down, tired and less motivated to do things, particularly outdoors. However, as important as we take food everyday, our amazingly complex body and intriguing mind need its regular nourishment for functionality and sanity.

I wonder what people enjoy doing during the winter?

There must be something mind-blowing as the season exists for a reason just like the existence of us. A simple research led to this.

SALA festival is on during August month, so if you can, support the local artists and enjoy some amazing shows, exhibitions and activities https://southaustralia.com/products/adelaide/event/sala-festival.

For me, Tai Chi is not just an exercise, it is also a gate for more than what our eyes can see. Search for things that are subtle, not obvious. You may see things clearer when the heart and mind become quieter.

Besides improving our physical strength, balance and flexibility, Tai Chi can help to build one’s characters. I remember when I first started my Tai Chi training, my parents wanted me to become more disciplined and wise, not sure about the wise bit :)

Hopefully we get wise through various things, first-hand learning, books, mentors, real life experience etc.

Before talking about this term, I just want to let you know the Tai Chi for Body Posture, Grounding & Strengthening workshop in July was a success. Success, for me, means you learned something that will benefit your body, mind and spirit, in any quantity, quality and order. For example, you feel relaxed during and after the workshop. You remember one movement and can practice on your own. You have a complete mind-body moment that you have never felt before. Your heart is in a happier place.

Our Tai Chi classes started last week. A very warm welcome to everyone who is back from last term and those who joined this term!

Let’s keep warm and active through our regularly Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes, moving while meditating, being active and still at the same time.

According to Arthritis Australia, there are 4.11 million Australians living with arthritis. I thought some general healthy diet tips may be helpful.

Over the past 20 years, many peer-reviewed studies have shown the potent benefits of Tai Chi for Arthritis and other chronic medical conditions. You can check them out if you wish. Tai Chi is also an excellent choice for rehabilitation and health preservation.

The last but not least, I hope you make a good use of Meridian Connection Tai Chi free online resources to stay calm and active during the winter month.

Looking forward to seeing you in the class soon.

Yours in Tai Chi,
Fang & the Team
