What’s Happening
11th April 2022
Welcome to our April newsletter!
Season change sometimes challenges people’s general health and immune system. Transiting from summer to autumn, according to Chinese five elements study, we are in the Metal element season which is related to internal organ Lung. Lung in Chinese traditional medicine (TCM) system refers to more than just lung as an organ, it includes holistic functions in relations to other internal organs etc. For instance, lung and large intestine health are often paired and assessed in TCM.
Is there any of you who has experienced respiratory discomfort or problem ( e.g. dry cough, itchy throat) as well as skin problem? If so, you need to activate and cultivate your Lung Qi.
Simple exercise to open your Lung meridian channel could be effective, such as 2nd movement in Eight Piece of Brocade Qi Gong form. Watch the video if you like to get some ideas

April is the special month for global Tai Chi and Qi Gong community as millions of Tai Chi fans will join the World Tai Chi and Qi Gong Day on 30th April under the “One World, One Breath” banner to create peace wave and raise public awareness. It is a FREE event so anyone who is looking for a relaxing and energetic Tai Chi time can join us.
A few events are lining up to give everyone an opportunity to experience Qi Gong and Tai Chi in April, to improve sensitivity and alertness so you can react more sensibly to seasonal change and other external factors that sometimes are beyond your control. Remember, we are a mind-body-spirit Being, the wholeness makes each of us unique and who we are:)

We will finish our Term 1 this week and our Term 2 is currently open for online registration. At Meridian Connection Tai Chi school, we do things a bit different. We do things slowly so we can enjoy the journey and achieve more in a long run. I hope this is something you are resonating with. We promote slowness and stillness, so that we can react fast when needed. I’d like to share this quote with you, hoping you may like it.
“I wander in these jade-green hills,
No one can tell the stillness in my heart.
My body idles like a floating cloud
soon I will be free of this mortal realm”
– the Immortal Taoist
Who wants to have more moments like this in life?
Wish you all well and stay strong,
Fang & Meridian Connection Tai Chi Team
