Tai Chi in Nature

November 2023

Hello Tai Chi students, friends and enthusiasts, a warm welcome to our 2023 November Newsletter!

The weather has been mostly agreeable this month and the nature is changing its landscape with magic colors and refreshing Spring feel. Many parts of the country overflow with wildflower blooms, looking around you while walking on the street, so many gentle WOW moments which will bring you big smiles:) Australia hosts some of the planet’s most mind-blowing natural phenomena. I am sure you have some places on your bucket list to visit!

Spring can be a challenging season for us too, such as allergy, sports injuries, cold & flu, insects & animals, bushfire smoke etc.

While enjoying what the nature offers and living life to the fullest, we shall also work on ourselves (sometimes it can be hard when you don’t want to do it!). For example, strengthening the immune system to minimise allergy suffering. Life is interesting, nothing comes for free, take and give, isn’t it?

Diet/food is a big part of what shapes you and influences your health and wellbeing. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, we need to nourish our liver and pay attention to foods that look after the liver and balance liver yin and yang. Liver imbalances are most likely to occur in middle age. Food that cools and calms the liver yang are useful, such as celery, watercress, seaweed. Ginger, honey & mint tea can be used often as a daily drink. If it is a new food, introduce to your diet slowly.

There will be a free Tai Chi in the park session on 9th December at Angus Neill Reserve, Seacliff. More details will be at the website soon. Everyone is welcome.

13th November next Monday is the World Kindness Day to promote and celebrate acts of kindness with ourselves and to each other. On special day and every day.

I hope our kindness acts overflow like wildflower blooms in spring.

To your health,
Fang & the Team
